Rethinking Life and Education

This blog is a little scattered. I originally just wanted to look at my life but I hit something which is core to my being.

The last week I've been hit over the head by the beauty of Ancient Greece, and I've kinda lost my path in reality.

Also, unironically reading the Communist Manifesto. Marx says (in a bad way) that I am an "instrument of production".

Even from my education, I am being trained to be a good slave, or more importantly, trained to reduce my individual light.

I do want to change education for the better, for the kids. Even university, I look now as an important tool for making friends with extreme interests and passions. But education in the formative years, looks like tiny children carrying giant bags of giant books... this is not making them love knowledge. It is making them want to escape. And of course, the overlords love someone who wants to escape. Videogames, energy drinks, television, candy. Things that "could" be okay in moderation, become ways for our youths to cope. But they should see the beauty of knowledge as a way to cope, and leave an important influence on the world. No, knowledge is that which is annoying to our modern human, thanks to Education. Brought to you by your enslavers.

Even I think of going back to university, just to become a teacher that might be able to give this light to the youths. Or better yet, to have influence and reform the system with my mighty fine credentials. But that's such a loaded task, that I am afraid it would be too late, and too much in the wrong direction. Every day that passes where a child is depressed with learning, is a day that I must whip myself for not fixing this disgusting problem.

Let the children learn. Not with books or exams. But with creativity, and passion, and interaction. After 14 years of education, you should be a specialist in several fields that you are passionate about. Our 14 years leaves us with the Alphabet, Basic Math, and mental health issues such as depression and the need for it's medical treatment, addiction.

How can I change this about our system?

Teaching doesn't seem like enough, but it is an important part for sure.

Creating specialists that can step outside the enslavement system is the goal, so I must embody and think like a true teacher if I want to teach how to teach.

When the goal is making money, the process becomes so dull and dirty. No love for the Ancient Classics if you are solely driven by wealth. But studying the Classics can enrichen one's character profoundly.

I do believe that the best education, is with student collaboration by sharing ideas, problems, and passion. Passion is contagious, and that's what's lost from our current system.
